Key Milestones

  • 1999

    Scope Technologies is founded.

  • 2000

    Launch of Scope's first vehicle onboard hardware Telematics platform, MHub902. It is among the first of its kind to offer driver and fleet management on the same hardware platform.

    Telenor subsidiary (Norwegian mobile operator) becomes Scope's first international customer.

    Super Group, the South African leasing and logistics giant, orders 5 000 units for the Johannesburg Municipality.

  • 2001

    Scope launches its first middleware and application platforms. It is the first of its kind middleware to introduce profiled data distribution.

    Transco (formerly British Gas) places an order for its fleet of 6 000 vehicles through its leasing arm TLG (The Leasing Group).

  • 2003

    Scope launches its second generation versions of vehicle onboard hardware, middleware and applications. One of the few Fleet Telematics hardware systems to integrate the GPS Chipset directly onto the PCB, and incorporate the fleet management program code onto the GPS chipset.

  • 2005

    Ituran, one of the largest Telematics Service providers in world, signs up with Scope.

  • 2006

    BOC chooses Scope products for its global fleet.
    First implementation in the UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia,
    Thailand and South Africa commence.

    Scope launches its third generation platform for hardware and middleware. The new hardware platforms introduce the concepts of 5-year autonomous trailer units, least-cost routing and DCT (Dynamic Customisable Triggers). The middleware introduces Fully Automated Unit Manager and third party hardware integration.

    Scope establishes Singapore office to focus on the growing Asian market.

  • 2007

    Scope signs regional deals with G4S for Asia and the Middle East Regions and further expands its coverage across Latin America.

  • 2008

    Scope launches its fourth generation hardware range of products, including an industry specific product for the insurance market sector. Launch of the new generation MZone platform boasting a global first MRM platform using Silverlight technology.
