    Fuel Management

    With fuel costs becoming an increasinly large component of total logistics costs, the effective management of this is vital. Scope have developed a fuel management solution that provides the various measures and controls to ensure fuel consumption is lowered and fuel  theft eliminated. The solutoins offered include:

    1. Integration into the vehicles fuel guages, OBDII port or CANBus to provide real-time fuel consumption and totals for each trip

    2. Fuel management reports showing fuel consumption and significant changes in trends (which show either theft of maintenance issues)

    3. Fuel theft prevention devices integrated with the system

    4. Monitoring of driving style in conjuntion with fuel consumption to assist in identifying the need for driver training. This is particularly important for heavy vehicles

    Driver Behaviour

    Active monitoring of driver behaviour where the information reported from telematics device and the application software provide advanced driver scoring functionality. Recently refined to measure and asess risk for the indurance industry, Scope's driver scoring tool is available to fleet owners to go well beyond traditional driver management solutions.

    The model takes into consideration driving style, time of travel, distance travelled and duration to compute everything from effects on fuel consumption to the probability of having an accident. This provides the fleet operator valueable information which allows early intervention to prevent accidents, prolong vehicle life, reduce emmissions and save in company operating costs.

    Regulatory compliance

    Scope Technologies' driver management tool enable fleet operators to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards that mandate maximum driving time without a rest, maximum hours in a day, a week and a month as well as minimum rest periods between stops and between each long-haul trip.

    Our software can set waypoints on route that advise the driver and fleet operator, in real time, that maximum drive time is about to be reached and a rest location must be found. It also prompts fleet operators if drivers are at risk of reaching their daily, weekly or monthly work driving limit. The system can also be setup to prevent fleet operators from scheduling more trips where the maximum limit has been reached

    Digital tachograph interface

    Scope has managed to successfully integrate into the digital tachograph device which records a vehicle's speed over time. The tachograph is usually fitted to lorries or trucks behind the speedometer and records the vehicle’s speed and whether it is moving or stationary. All information from the digital tachograph device is sent from the Scope Mhub to the Scope end user application, Mzone. The end user is able to view the associated results via an array of reports.

    In-Vehicle Networks (remove)

    Advances in automotive design have led to an exponential increase in vehicle electronics. Today's vehicle design improvements are due in large part to the application of electronics to automotive systems. Vehicle functions are divided into systems and sub-systems to provide for passenger entertainment, comfort, and safety, as well as to improve vehicle performance and enhance powertrain control. These systems must communicate with one another over a complex heterogeneous in-vehicle network (IVN). Scope Tecxhnology has developed an advanced interface for this module.

    Least cost data routing

    Scope has engineered an intelligent messaging engine that allows for least cost data transmission based on user defined parameters.

    Utilising a propriety intelligent messaging engine, the MHub selects the least cost data transmission based on user defined parameters of location (i.e: roaming status)., data priority and availability of communication bearers. An example would be the switching of the communication method from GPRS to SMS for high priority events while roaming, while storing all the low priority event data and resuming transmission via GPRS of the low priority data when returning to the home network.

    Onboard Navigation assistance

    Real time data channelled to 3rd party systems that allow for the mobile workforce to be better managed and communicated with.

    Scope Technologies onboard navigation assistance allows for real time GPS data to be channelled to 3rd party navigation systems. This allows for better management of and communication with your drivers and workforce.

    Voice and Messaging

    By using the GSM Modem built into our communication device, clients can save on costs and ensure better efficiency and control of communication hands-free voice kits.

    This device allows the client to send free text messages from the office to the driver and vice versa. The office will also be able to call the driver on the in-cab communication device, and predefined numbers can be stored into our communication device to allow for outbound calls to a limited set of numbers, simply by pressing one number. This is far safer than the commercially available hands-free kits which still require number dialing or number search.

    PDA Interface

    Scope Technology’s PDA interface enhances the communication management between the mobile asset and the back office. Communication and data file transfers (i.e. invoices, routes, EPOD files, etc) between the PDA and the back office platforms are facilitated via the MHub ensuring a reliable means of data synchronisation. The interface between the PDA and the MHub is provided via an easily integrated API.

    Dynamic Trigger Configuration

    Scope Technology has implemented Dynamic Trigger Configurations allowing more control for fleet managers by enrolling user-defined event actions to those events.

    Utilising an intelligent propriety Dynamic trigger Configuration (DTC) engine, any user defined event and an associated action can be configured and applied to the MHub unit over the air, providing an easily adaptable platform to dynamically changing requirements.

    Vehicle performance and diagnostics

    Scope has engineered an interface to the standard CANBus or In-vehicle networks. The vehicle data provided includes essential information such as the odometer, trip distance, fuel tank level, fuel consumption, water temperature, oil pressure, axel load, engine hours and TCO Data

    Scope Technoligies have developed standard interfaces to vehicle vehicle CAN and OBDII ports to allow for easy access to important information at high sampling frequency

    Environmental impact

    In today’s environmental climate, it has become essential to reduce your companies carbon footprint. Our telematics solutions not only provide the technology to dramatically reduce the emmissions of a vehicle, as well as tyre usage, but it also reports on certain key requirements companies need to measure carbon footprint. Our mielage reports, for example, will provide CO2 emissions reporting for each vehicle based on km's travelled and specific emission levels for that vehicle. Global awareness and worldwide regulations are driving this environmental issue and companies are now obligated to take notice and become socially responsible entities.     Mobile resource Identification

    Scope Technologies Mobile Resource Identification application ensures that all drivers can be uniquely identified and matched with a user defined activity profile (AP). For example a driver’s AP can be limited to specific days of the week, times of the day, and location. On identification of the driver, the MHub will also determine if a given driver may be allowed to use the vehicle based on the allocated AP. All events relating to the vehicle usage shall be associated with the authenticated driver

    GSM-Satellite hybrid communications

    One of the challenges of GSM monitoring vehicles or assets that travel out of GSM service range is the "dead spots" in the trips and high cost of roaming when not on the host GSM network. Scope Technologies have developed a hybrid unit that automatically switches to GPS data transmission when GSM is out of range or in-country roaming has not been activated. This ensures tracking is maintained while data costs are limited.
